Founded in 1991, Working Capital for Community Needs (WCCN) is a non-profit, socially responsible investment fund. Its mission is to create opportunities for economically disadvantaged communities in Latin America by providing loans to microfinance institutions (MFIs) and fair-trade agricultural cooperatives. WCCN raises capital from socially conscious individuals, religious institutions, and foundations in the United States, and then lends this capital to its partner organizations to foster economic development, empower women, and promote sustainable agriculture.
