Originally chartered in 1963 as the Gadsden Goodyear Credit Union to serve the employees of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Plant, the institution has grown significantly over the decades. It rebranded to WinSouth Credit Union in 2004 to better reflect its expanded and diverse membership base. As a member-owned cooperative, its mission is to provide affordable, high-quality financial services, including checking and savings accounts, loans, and mortgages, with a focus on improving the financial well-being of its members rather than generating profit for stockholders.
