Founded in 1934 by a group of eight school teachers, Westerra Credit Union began as the Denver Public Schools Credit Union. It has since grown into a major local financial institution serving the broader Denver metro community. As a not-for-profit cooperative, its profits are returned to members in the form of lower fees, lower loan rates, and higher savings rates. The credit union's mission is "to teach one another to prosper," focusing on financial education and providing comprehensive personal and business banking services, including checking/savings accounts, mortgages, auto loans, and credit cards.
