Originally established in 1993 as First Group Credit Union for employees of FirstGroup plc, the company rebranded as Voyager Alliance Credit Union to serve the wider passenger transport industry across the UK. It operated as a not-for-profit financial co-operative, owned and run by its members, offering services like savings accounts and affordable loans. In 2019, Voyager Alliance merged with RetailCU (for retail sector employees), and on October 1, 2021, the combined entity merged into Penny Post Credit Union, which primarily serves Royal Mail Group employees and their families. All operations are now managed under the Penny Post Credit Union brand.
