Founded in 1999, VoiceGenie Technologies specialized in creating standards-based voice recognition software. Its core product, the VoiceGenie platform, allowed enterprises and telecommunication carriers to build and manage automated voice applications, such as customer self-service systems, using the VoiceXML standard. The company was recognized as a key player in the speech technology market before being acquired by Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc. (now Genesys) in May 2006. Its technology was subsequently integrated into the Genesys suite of customer experience and contact center solutions.
