Information by Research TrustFinance
The VCU Student Managed Investment Portfolio (SMIP) is an experiential learning program within the VCU School of Business. Established to provide students with hands-on experience in security analysis and portfolio management, the SMIP allows a select group of undergraduate and graduate students to actively manage a real investment fund, which is a component of the VCU School of Business endowment and is valued at over $2 million. The program's mission is to bridge the gap between investment theory and practice by requiring students to conduct in-depth research, make buy/sell decisions, and manage risk for a diversified portfolio of equities.
