Founded in 1983 in Iceland, Valitor grew to become a prominent international payment solutions company with a strong presence in Europe, particularly in Iceland, the UK, and Ireland. The company provided a comprehensive range of services, including merchant acquiring, payment gateway solutions for online and mobile commerce, and point-of-sale (POS) terminals. In 2021, Valitor was acquired by the global Fintech-as-a-Service company Rapyd. The acquisition was aimed at strengthening Rapyd's payment capabilities across Europe. Valitor's operations and services have since been integrated into the Rapyd Global Payments Network.
