Founded in 1975 by local UN staff members in Nairobi, the United Nations SACCO (UN SACCO) is a member-owned financial institution. Its mission is to empower its members by providing affordable and accessible financial services, including savings accounts, credit facilities (loans), and investment opportunities. Regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) of Kenya as a Deposit-Taking SACCO, it serves the global community of United Nations employees, diplomatic missions, and other approved international organizations, promoting a culture of savings and prudent financial management among its members.
