UnikoinGold
Information by Research Trustfinance
UnikoinGold (UKG) was a cryptocurrency launched in 2017 through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) by Unikrn, Inc., a Seattle-based esports company founded by Rahul Sood and Karl Flores. The token was designed to be the exclusive currency for a skill-based betting platform, allowing users to wager on professional esports matches, play games, and enter jackpots. The project's mission was to create a unified, decentralized token for the esports and gaming community. However, in 2020, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged Unikrn for conducting an unregistered ICO, classifying UnikoinGold as a security. Following a settlement with the SEC, the tokens were disabled. In 2021, Unikrn was acquired by global sports betting and gaming giant Entain plc, which effectively ended the original UnikoinGold project.
