The company's stated mission was to provide capital and strategic management to a diverse portfolio of businesses. However, its operations ceased following a 2009 U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) complaint alleging that the company was a multi-million dollar Ponzi-like scheme. The founder was subsequently convicted of fraud and sentenced to prison, effectively ending the company's legitimate business activities.
