Originally chartered in 1961 as Dahlgren Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, the institution rebranded to Topside Federal Credit Union in 2021. As a member-owned financial cooperative, its mission is to be the primary financial institution for its members by providing competitive and convenient financial products and services, including checking and savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, and investment services. It operates on a not-for-profit basis, returning earnings to members through lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees.
