Tikkie is a popular payment service launched in 2016 as an initiative of the Dutch bank ABN AMRO. Its mission is to make payments between individuals and businesses simple, fast, and secure. The service allows anyone with a Dutch bank account and the Tikkie app to send payment requests through messaging platforms like WhatsApp. Payments are processed via the Dutch online payment system, iDEAL. In addition to peer-to-peer payments, Tikkie offers business solutions (Tikkie Zakelijk) for companies to send payment requests, and a "Tikkie Terug" feature for cashback promotions.
