Originally the financial services division of the historic Thomas Cook Group, "Thomas Cook Money" ceased operations when the parent company collapsed in September 2019. The Thomas Cook brand was subsequently purchased by Fosun Tourism Group and relaunched as a modern, online-only travel agency. The "Thomas Cook Money" name has been revived for its travel money card service. This service is a branded partnership; the Thomas Cook Prepaid Travel Card is issued and managed by PrePay Technologies Limited, an FCA-authorised e-money institution, on behalf of Thomas Cook. The service focuses on offering a secure and convenient way for UK travellers to manage their spending money in multiple currencies.
