It operated as a self-managed (rather than appointing an external fund manager) publicly listed company on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker SCIN. In 2022, following a strategic review, the trust's assets were rolled over into JPMorgan Global Growth & Income plc (JGGI) in a scheme of reconstruction, and The Scottish Investment Trust PLC was subsequently placed into voluntary liquidation.
