Founded in 1998, The Co-op Credit Union is a financial co-operative owned and run by its members for its members. Its mission is to provide an ethical and secure place for members to save, along with access to affordable loans when they need them. Membership is based on a "common bond" and is open to employees, members, and pensioners of The Co-operative Group and a wide range of other independent co-operative societies and organisations throughout the UK. The credit union operates on co-operative principles, promoting financial well-being within its community.
