The Foundation was formed following a successful fundraiser in 2017 to manage the collected funds. It fulfills its purpose by deploying resources to support the Tezos ecosystem through various means, including issuing grants for software development, research, community-building initiatives, marketing, and ecosystem support. It operates under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Foundation Supervisory Authority (ESA).
