Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 1923 as Twin City Federal Savings and Loan Association, TCF Financial Corporation grew into a significant regional bank holding company. Prior to its merger, it was headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, and offered a comprehensive suite of financial products and services, including consumer and commercial banking, wealth management, and leasing and equipment finance. In December 2020, TCF announced a "merger of equals" with Huntington Bancshares, a deal that was finalized in June 2021. All TCF banking centers were subsequently rebranded as Huntington branches, and the TCF brand was officially retired.
