Syscoin is an open-source, decentralized blockchain project launched in 2014. Its mission is to provide a secure, scalable, and low-cost infrastructure for Web3 applications. The platform features a dual-layer architecture: a core Layer 1 blockchain that is merge-mined with Bitcoin for proven security, and a Layer 2 solution called Rollux, which is an EVM-compatible optimistic rollup designed for high-throughput and low-fee transactions. The project is managed and supported by the non-profit Syscoin Foundation, which is dedicated to fostering the growth and adoption of the Syscoin ecosystem.
