syndicate lenders
Information by Research TrustFinance
The term "syndicate lenders" does not refer to a single company but to the members of a loan syndicate. A syndicated loan is one provided by a group of lenders (the "syndicate") and is structured, arranged, and administered by one or several commercial or investment banks, known as the "arrangers" or "agent bank". This approach is used to fund very large loans for corporations, governments, or major projects that would be too large or too risky for a single lender to provide alone. The syndicate spreads the risk among its members, which can include banks, hedge funds, and other institutional investors.
