swipp - hele danmarks mobilbetaling
Information by Research TrustFinance
Swipp was a mobile payment service launched in 2013 by a collaboration of more than 80 Danish banks, including major players like Nordea, Nykredit, and Jyske Bank. The platform was designed to enable instant peer-to-peer money transfers and in-store payments using a mobile phone number. Despite broad banking support, Swipp struggled to gain significant market share against its primary competitor, MobilePay, which was backed by Danske Bank. In late 2016, the banks behind Swipp announced they would discontinue the service and instead join the MobilePay platform. Swipp officially ceased operations on February 28, 2017.
