Founded by Joselito Lizarondo, Swipe was a financial technology company that provided a platform to bridge the cryptocurrency and traditional fiat financial systems. Its core products included a multi-currency digital wallet and a series of Visa debit cards that allowed users to buy, sell, and spend a wide range of digital assets at millions of locations worldwide. In 2020, the major cryptocurrency exchange Binance acquired a majority stake in Swipe to advance its crypto card services. Subsequently, in late 2021, European fintech platform Solarisbank AG (now Solaris SE) acquired Swipe to expand its "Banking-as-a-Service" offerings and strengthen its crypto and decentralized finance capabilities. The Swipe brand and its services have since been integrated into the Solaris ecosystem.
