Svyaznoy Bank was a Russian financial institution, formerly known as AKB Promtorgbank, which was acquired by the Svyaznoy Group in 2010. It leveraged the extensive network of the Svyaznoy mobile retail stores to rapidly build a large client base, focusing on issuing credit cards, consumer loans, and accepting deposits. The bank's business model was heavily integrated with the retail chain, offering financial products at points of sale. However, the bank faced significant financial difficulties, and on November 24, 2015, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation revoked its banking license, leading to its subsequent bankruptcy and liquidation.
