Founded in 1985 and formerly headquartered in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Sun National Bank operated as a full-service community bank. It offered a comprehensive suite of financial products, including commercial and retail banking, credit services, wealth management, and treasury management for businesses, individuals, and government entities. The bank was a subsidiary of Sun Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNBC). On January 31, 2017, Sun National Bank was officially acquired by and merged into OceanFirst Bank, N.A., the banking subsidiary of OceanFirst Financial Corp. All operations and branding have since been consolidated under the OceanFirst Bank name.
