Founded in 1993, Summit Brokerage Services, Inc. operated as a privately-held, independent broker-dealer headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida. The firm provided a platform for independent financial advisors, offering a range of financial products, services, and technology to help them serve their clients. In August 2019, it was announced that Summit Financial Networks (the parent company of Summit Brokerage Services) would be acquired by Cetera Financial Group. The acquisition was completed, and in February 2020, Summit Brokerage Services, Inc. was officially merged into Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, ceasing to operate as a standalone entity.
