Founded in 1967 as Suffolk Federal Credit Union for municipal employees of Suffolk County, the institution has since expanded its field of membership to include anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in the county. In 2021, the company simplified its name to Suffolk Credit Union. As a not-for-profit cooperative, its mission is to return profits to its members through better rates, lower fees, and enhanced services, focusing on the financial well-being of its members and the local community.
