Founded in 2007 as Street Capital Financial Corporation, the company grew to become one of Canada's largest non-bank mortgage lenders. It focused on the broker channel, offering a range of residential mortgage products. In 2017, it received its Schedule I bank license from the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) and officially became Street Capital Bank of Canada. In 2019, the company was acquired by RFA Capital and subsequently merged with its operations, rebranding to become part of RFA Bank of Canada.
