The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) was established by the Irish Government in 2014 to improve access to finance for Small and Medium Enterprises. It is a wholesale, non-direct lender that sources funding from domestic and international partners, such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), to provide low-cost, long-term loans to SMEs via its network of on-lending partners. The SBCI's mission is to address financial market failures, drive competition in the SME lending market, and support the growth and development of Irish businesses.
