Stilt Inc. was a mission-driven fintech company founded by immigrants to address the challenges non-U.S. citizens face in accessing credit and financial services. The company developed a unique underwriting model that considered factors beyond traditional credit scores, such as education, work experience, and visa status, to offer personal loans to international students, visa holders, and new immigrants. Over time, Stilt expanded its product suite to include bank accounts, credit-building tools, and international money transfers. In early 2024, it was publicly announced that Onbo, a platform from U.S. Bancorp, acquired Stilt's technology and team. Following the acquisition, the Stilt platform ceased accepting new applications for its services.
