Originally founded in 1935 as Flint Area School Employees Credit Union (FASECU), the institution rebranded to Sovita Credit Union to better reflect its expanded community charter. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Sovita is owned and operated by its members. Its mission is to provide affordable, high-quality financial services, including checking and savings accounts, personal and vehicle loans, mortgages, and digital banking solutions, with a focus on improving the financial well-being of its members and the communities it serves.
