Founded in 1940 as Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Employees Federal Credit Union, the institution has since grown into Sound Credit Union, a full-service, not-for-profit financial cooperative. As a member-owned organization, its profits are returned to members in the form of better rates, lower fees, and enhanced services. Sound Credit Union is dedicated to "standing with members through all waves of life" by providing a wide range of financial products, including checking and savings accounts, auto loans, mortgages, credit cards, business banking, and investment services, with a focus on serving the communities within Washington state.
