Sofort AG
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 2005 as Payment Network AG and later renamed Sofort AG, the company developed a popular online direct payment system, primarily in Germany and other European countries. The service, Sofortüberweisung (Sofort banking), allows customers to make purchases online using their own online banking credentials for a secure and direct bank transfer. In 2014, Sofort AG was acquired by the Swedish fintech giant Klarna. Since the acquisition, the service has been integrated into Klarna's broader suite of payment solutions and is being progressively rebranded to "Pay Now with Klarna" or simply Klarna's direct bank transfer option.
