Founded in 1993, SODECO (Sociedad para el Desarrollo de las Comarcas Mineras) is a public company owned by the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. Its mission is to act as a financial and strategic partner to foster economic activity, create employment, and diversify the industrial fabric in the regions historically dependent on coal mining. SODECO provides financing to businesses through various instruments, including participative loans, minority equity stakes (venture capital), and advisory services, primarily supporting SMEs and new entrepreneurial projects that contribute to the sustainable development of these specific territories.
