The Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) is an initiative designed to enhance the skills and employability of young Africans. It is a programme of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU). The programme is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. SIFA operates by financing skills development projects, promoting private sector engagement, and supporting innovative approaches to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the continent.
