Signature Group
Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 2001, Signature Bank was a commercial bank headquartered in New York City. It focused on relationship-based banking for privately owned businesses, their owners, and senior managers. Over the years, it expanded significantly, opening private client offices in New York and on the West Coast. In its later years, the bank gained prominence for its willingness to provide banking services to cryptocurrency firms, launching the Signet platform for real-time blockchain-based payments. Following a bank run triggered by the collapses of Silvergate Bank and Silicon Valley Bank, regulators closed Signature Bank on March 12, 2023, to protect depositors and the financial system.
