Self-Help Federal Credit Union is a non-profit community development financial institution (CDFI) that was chartered in 2008. It is part of the larger Self-Help family of non-profit organizations founded in 1980 with a mission to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity for all. The credit union focuses on serving people of color, women, rural residents, and low-wealth families and communities by offering responsible and affordable financial services, including personal and mortgage loans, checking and savings accounts, and business loans, often to individuals who might be underserved by traditional financial institutions.
