Established on June 7, 1993, by the Government of Nepal under the Securities Act, SEBON is the primary regulatory body for the country's securities markets. Its mission is to promote and protect the interests of investors by regulating the securities market in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner. SEBON is responsible for supervising and monitoring market participants, including the stock exchange, brokers, and merchant bankers, as well as approving public offerings (IPOs, FPOs) and other securities issuances to ensure the orderly development of the capital market in Nepal.
