The SECO Start-up Fund is an initiative of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Its mission is to foster sustainable private sector development by helping Swiss small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) invest in developing and emerging economies. The fund provides repayable loans (debt capital) for commercially viable projects that are expected to create local jobs, facilitate knowledge and technology transfer, and adhere to high environmental and social standards. The fund is managed on behalf of SECO by the specialized finance company FINSAD Group SA.
