Sberbank CZ
Information by Research Trustfinance
Sberbank CZ, a.s. was a commercial bank operating in the Czech Republic, formerly known as Volksbank CZ. It was a subsidiary of the Austrian Sberbank Europe AG, which in turn was owned by Sberbank of Russia. The bank offered a range of retail and corporate banking services to individuals and businesses. Following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, a bank run led the European Central Bank's Single Resolution Board to declare the bank as "failing or likely to fail". Consequently, the Czech National Bank (ČNB) revoked its banking license, and the bank entered into liquidation and bankruptcy proceedings in 2022.
