Established in 1934 by City of San Diego employees, San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union (SDMCU) is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative. Its mission is to serve the financial needs of its members by providing a full range of personal banking services, including checking and savings accounts, credit cards, auto loans, mortgages, and personal loans. Unlike a traditional bank, SDMCU returns profits to its members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings yields, and fewer fees. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or worships in San Diego County.
