The South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA) is a non-profit company established in 2007. SAMPRA licenses music users such as broadcasters (radio and television), restaurants, retailers, and other businesses, ensuring that the copyright holders are compensated whenever their music is played publicly. The organisation represents thousands of independent and major record labels as well as recording artists.
