Founded in 1995 as Security First Network Bank (SFNB), the world's first internet bank, the company soon spun off its technology division as S1 Corporation. S1 grew to become a major B2B software provider for the financial industry, offering a suite of products that enabled banks and credit unions to manage payments, offer online and mobile banking, and operate their branches. The company expanded through numerous acquisitions before it was itself acquired by ACI Worldwide in February 2012, and its products and services were integrated into ACI's portfolio.
