Established in 2011, Reclaim Fund Ltd (RFL) is a public limited company, wholly owned by HM Treasury, but operates as a non-profit. Its primary mission is to manage the UK's Dormant Assets Scheme. RFL receives money from financial institutions that has been left untouched in accounts for 15 years or more (dormant assets). It holds these funds, ensuring that customers can always reclaim their money if they come forward. The surplus funds, after accounting for potential reclaims, are then distributed to social and environmental initiatives throughout the United Kingdom, supporting causes like financial inclusion, youth programs, and social investment. The company is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
