Its flagship products, including the Picsel File Viewer and Picsel Browser, allowed users to view various document formats (like PDF and Microsoft Office) and browse the web on feature phones and early smartphones. Despite raising significant venture capital and partnering with major handset manufacturers, the company faced financial difficulties with the market shift towards advanced smartphone operating systems like iOS and Android. In 2009, Picsel went into administration, and its intellectual property and assets were subsequently acquired by Sasken Communication Technologies.
