Founded in 2000, Peribit Networks was a pioneer and market leader in the field of WAN optimization and Wide Area File Services (WAFS). The company's core technology, known as Molecular Sequence Reduction (MSR), identified and eliminated redundant data patterns in network traffic to dramatically improve application performance and reduce bandwidth consumption over wide area networks. Its flagship products were the Sequence Reducer (SR) appliances. In June 2005, Peribit Networks was acquired by Juniper Networks for approximately $337 million, and its technology was integrated into Juniper's WX and WXC application acceleration platforms.
