Originally founded as Penta, a German fintech, the company focused on providing digital business banking for small and medium-sized enterprises. In July 2022, Penta was acquired by its larger French competitor, Qonto. Following the acquisition, Penta's services and brand have been integrated into the Qonto ecosystem, now operating as "Penta by Qonto" in the German market. The combined entity aims to be the leading European digital business finance solution, simplifying everything from daily banking and expense management to bookkeeping and invoicing for businesses.
