Pennstar Bank was a full-service commercial bank headquartered in Pennsylvania, providing a range of banking and financial services to individuals, families, and businesses. Founded as The First National Bank of Scranton in 1863, it grew to become a prominent community bank in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. In April 2013, Pennstar Bank was officially acquired by NBT Bancorp Inc. and its branches and operations were merged into NBT Bank, N.A. All former Pennstar Bank locations were subsequently rebranded as NBT Bank, continuing to offer services under the new parent company.
