Founded in 1990 by the Government of Bangladesh, the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is an apex development organization that operates as a not-for-profit company. Its core mission is to alleviate poverty and improve the quality of life for the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged people of Bangladesh. PKSF does not lend directly to individuals but instead provides funds and technical assistance to a network of Partner Organizations (POs), primarily microfinance institutions (MFIs), which in turn deliver a wide range of financial and non-financial services to grassroots communities. Its programs encompass microenterprise financing, skills training, healthcare, education, climate change adaptation, and social advocacy.
