The Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company (PMIC) is a private sector-led, commercially sustainable, and publicly accountable institution established to support the growth of the microfinance sector in Pakistan. It was set up with sponsorship from the Government of Pakistan through the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and capital from international partners including the International Development Association (World Bank), KfW (the German Development Bank), and the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). PMIC's core mission is to promote financial inclusion by providing wholesale debt and equity financing to Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and Non-Bank Microfinance Companies (NBMFCs), thereby enabling them to expand their outreach to underserved populations.
