Originally founded as an affordable financial advice service, the initial company, OpenMoney Adviser Services Ltd, went into administration in late 2022. The brand and its assets were subsequently acquired. In 2024, OpenMoney was relaunched by its new parent company, The Money Platform Ltd, with a completely new business model. The current iteration of OpenMoney operates as a peer-to-peer lending platform, aiming to provide fair and transparent short-term loans to UK consumers while allowing investors to fund these loans and earn returns.
