Originally founded in 1956 as the Convair-Fort Worth Federal Credit Union to serve defense workers, it later became Omni American Federal Credit Union. In 2006, it converted to a mutual savings bank and was renamed OmniAmerican Bank. The bank provided a full range of personal and business banking services, including checking, savings, loans, and mortgages, primarily serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In 2015, OmniAmerican Bank was acquired by and merged into Southside Bancshares, Inc., the parent company of Southside Bank. All of its branches and operations were subsequently rebranded under the Southside Bank name.
